Embody health in recovery from all addictive disorders, (substances, food/sugar and behaviors) through Ayurveda, framed in the most accessible, relatable and practical way.  Address the needs and vulnerabilities that underlie these habits with pioneering look at our stress-response tendencies.  We’ll look at our ‘acting out’ tendencies, and how physical practices and daily routines can widen the window of tolerance.  We come to deeper self-understanding and self-regulation for resilience one day at a time.

Yoga of Recovery works with everyone whose lives have been affected by addiction, in themselves or loved ones – people who have sex addiction, eating disorders, codependents with no substance abuse, and others where substance abuse is present but it is not the primary presenting issue. The program is also open to anyone who wants to learn lifestyle and stress management skills.

Health and recovery from addiction and disease involve fully living in the wholeness that you are. By recognizing your innate strengths you can learn to revitalize your body’s systems rather than to depend on addictive, unhealthy behaviors. Build a strong foundation for living well, and learn about stress, digestion, sleep hygiene, and detoxification. Practice deep self-care and emotional regulation through simple Ayurvedic daily routines that you can practice at home.

The program is an integration of the philosophy and psychology of yoga and Ayurveda – offering many physical practices to allow us to embody our recovery pathway.

When you sign up through Integral Yoga San Francisco you’ll also receive 6 months unlimited yoga classes on IYTV.

Neuroscience, Yoga, and Mindfulness: How Yoga Heals

$295.00 to $350.00  Sliding Scale | Please register via the button above, linking to Yogaville website, by 11 am on Jun. 17

Dates and times:

Saturday and Sunday  8am – 11am PT & 1pm – 3pm PT (11 am–2 pm & 4–6 pm ET)

Neuroscience can explain how and why Yoga works for healing the body, mind, and emotions. In this online workshop, Dr. Cunningham will share with you some powerful techniques and strategies for increasing healing, happiness, and peace; and conversely, you will learn how to reduce negative emotions, thoughts, and behaviors that tend to take over our lives.

Researchers are now able to understand how Yoga and mindfulness practices can help us to heal, restore vibrancy, and increase resiliency. Over the last twenty years, research has proven that Yoga and mindfulness techniques can increase empathy, compassion, and optimism, and can significantly reduce negative emotions such as chronic stress, anxiety, and depression. We now know that certain Yoga and mindfulness practices can have a positive impact on our neurobiology and our neuropathways.

Explore and discuss:

  • Scientific ways you can rewire the brain, releasing old patterns and introducing new, healing energy into the body, mind, and emotions
  • Powerful hands-on healing methods designed to help with emotional balance through their positive impact on anxiety, depression, addictions, anger, stress, and other emotional and mental issues
  • Established tools for helping with physical healing.

These ideas and tools are on the cutting edge of neuroscience and therapy. Come learn about this fascinating new field and discover what neuroscience, Yoga, and mindfulness have to offer you.

Live sessions on Thursday and Friday at 11 am–1 pm and 4–6 pm, on Saturday and Sunday at 11 am–2 pm and 4–6 pm ET. The schedule includes 18 hours of live sessions plus 8 hours of prerecorded Cognitive, Hatha Yoga, and Pranayama practices with Dr. Mala Cunningham.
