Satsang: Sustaining our Spiritual Vision

By donation $0, $5, $10, $15  sliding scale, pay what you can | Please register in advance, a Zoom link and passcode will be provided via confirmation email.
(This workshop was previously offered with an in-person option. This event is now online only).

One of the primary challenges of the spiritual path is sustaining the intention to awaken, even as we encounter considerable obstacles. In this Satsang, we’ll discuss the many roadblocks we encounter on the spiritual path and the benefits of establishing strong habits, spiritual community and the use of affirmations.

Satsang is a special time for us to come together as a community. In Sanskrit, Sat means truth and Sangha means community. Satsang offers an opportunity to come together to share spiritual teachings. The philosophy of Integral Yoga is explored, often, through an informal discussion. Although spiritual paths may diverge, the act of sharing spiritual teachings with others is inspiring and creates a solid foundation for continued practice.
People of all faiths are welcome.

Deeply painful experiences can create resentment and anger that are held like protective armor around the heart, constricting our capacity to love and experience joy in daily life.

In part 1 of this workshop, we’ll explore the obstacles to forgiveness, the way forgiveness can act as a healing process that frees the heart from guilt, self-judgment, and the judgment of others. Forgiveness can transform difficult relationships into steps for spiritual growth, allowing us to be true to ourselves and have compassion for others.

On Sept 22, in part 2 of this workshop, we’ll work with unresolved anger and deeply held resentments. We will see how they act as a prison for the heart, and how we can work skillfully to resolve them. We will see how this healing process can be initiated and that over time it frees the heart and mind to be fully present to life.
