We often think of self-realization as the goal of Yoga, but what does that truly mean to us? It can remain a vague and distant concept, seemingly disconnected from our daily lives. Join Ramananda for a discussion on how we can free ourselves from the illusion of separation and how our everyday thoughts and actions can become meaningful steps toward realizing our true nature.

Satsang is a special time for us to come together as a community. In Sanskrit, Sat means truth and Sangha means community. Satsang offers an opportunity to come together to share spiritual teachings. The philosophy of Integral Yoga is explored often through an informal discussion. Although our spiritual paths may diverge, the act of sharing spiritual teachings with others is inspiring and creates a solid foundation for continued practice.


Swami Ramananda, C-IAYT, E-RYT 500, is the Executive Director of the Integral Yoga Institute in San Francisco, C-IAYT, and a greatly respected senior teacher in the Integral Yoga tradition who has been practicing Yoga for over 45 years. Ramananda offers practical methods of integrating the timeless teachings and practices of Yoga into daily life and transforming the painful aspects of human experience into steps toward realizing one’s full potential.
He leads beginner, intermediate and advanced-level Yoga teacher training programs in San Francisco and offers a variety of programs in many locations in the U.S., Europe and South America. Ramananda co-developed the Stress Management Teacher Training program with Swami Vidyananda, has trained many teachers to bring Yoga into corporate, hospital and medical settings, and has taught mind/body wellness programs in many locations. He is a certified Yoga therapist and founding board member of the Yoga Alliance, a national registry that supports and promotes yoga teachers as professionals. He co-founded The Spiritual Action Initiative (SAI), which brings together individuals committed to working for social justice for all beings and for the care and healing of our natural world. His warmth, wisdom and sense of humor have endeared him to many.

Swami Yatidharmananda is a globally recognised Yogi from India and is the founder of Swami Chidananda Sevashram. The Sevashram is a Socio-Spiritual Organization dedicated to the life and teachings of Gurudev Swami Chidanandaji. He conducts workshops on Relaxation and Meditation, Sings Kirtans and loves to share inspiring stories of his life transformative journey. He has also developed unique and impactful programs that heal, empower and transform you to tackle challenges in day to day lives. He dedicated himself to the service of his Guru Swami Chidananda Saraswati and was blessed to be with him 24X7 for many years. He had the rare opportunity and blessing to observe one of the greatest saints that left an indelible imprint on his life. In the year 2000, he received Sannyasa Diksha. Having received so much unconditionally, urges him to share this anecdotal wisdom with one and all. In July 2015, he set out on his own and founded Swami Chidananda Sevashram with the blessings of Gurudev Swami Chidananda ji of Sivananda Ashram. It is a monastery for the modern world where people of all ages and backgrounds can live on the principles and practices of Ayurveda for the body, Yoga for the mind and Vedanta for the soul. It also brings together revered teachers from around the world for sharing knowledge and wisdom on various wellness based activities. Nowadays authenticity is more often marketed than manifested. As a result many of us experience a vague feeling that something is misaligned or missing in our lives. What does it mean to truly live authentically in a world full of distractions, expectations, and pressures to conform? What makes being authentic so challenging even though everyone seems to yearn for it? And why does authenticity matter so much in our personal lives but also for the world at large?

Join Claudia Bartsch, a certified yoga therapist, in exploring the answers to these questions and to learn why the path towards authenticity could be the most important, the most challenging and the most fulfilling journey of your life.
The exploration will draw insights from Yoga Philosophy and Practices, from Western Psychology and Behavioral Science. Each workshop will offer a mixture of lecture and discussion but also some somatic exploration of how being authentic feels in the body.

The focus of the individual workshops will be:

  1. April 19 – defining authenticity, what it means to fully embody the person we are meant to be. We will explore its benefits for our own physical, mental, emotional well-being, and for the health of our relationships and communities.
  2. April 26 – why it is so challenging to live authentically, why the fear of other people’s opinion and our own self-doubt hold us back so often and how to overcome these hindrances.
  3. May 3 – how to cultivate increasingly more authenticity, how we can stop betraying ourselves and which tools and techniques can support us on the way.

This workshop(s) will be recorded and shared with participants for later viewing.
All are welcome, no prior experience with Yoga is necessary.


Claudia Bartsch, PRYT
Originally from Germany, Claudia studied and taught yoga for over 25 years. With more than 2000 hours of formal training in yoga she has a strong foundation in the classical approach to yoga and in innovative therapeutic methods. She is deeply dedicated to facilitating holistic healing and certified as a yoga therapist in 2016. In this role, she specializes in supporting individuals navigating mental or physical challenges by tailoring yoga practices to their unique conditions and needs. Additionally she was certified as a Stress Management Educator to empower individuals to cultivate resilience and inner peace through mindful practices. She is a Shiatsu and Reiki Practitioner, modalities that complement the holistic approach to well-being fostered through yoga.
