Intermediate Yoga Teacher Training
With Swami Ramananda, Swami Arivananda and Lalita Dagney
February 27 – May 8 (no class Sunday April 1)
Tuesdays & Thursdays 6-9 | Sundays 9:30-5:00
The Intermediate Teacher Training course provides you with the opportunity to upgrade your teaching skills, deepen your practice, and expand your service by learning how to teach an Integral Yoga Level II class. Intermediate asanas and variations are presented, as well as intermediate pranayama practices. Study of the Bhagavad Gita is also included, to strengthen your grounding in the universal teachings of Yoga for personal development and further your understanding. This is a wonderful way to meet and spend time with other Integral Yoga teachers, to share experiences and ideas, and to find creative solutions to problems encountered in teaching. This is a foundational training in our 500-hour Yoga Teacher Certification program.
Daily sessions will include pranayama, silent meditation, chanting, and other Yoga-based spiritual practices. The curriculum will consist of
• Guidance in your personal Yoga practices
• Monitored teaching practice
• Details and guidance for teaching Level II
• Optional poses for this level
• A course in the Bhagavad Gita with Swami Ramananda
• Further study of pranayama and meditation practice and theory
• Anatomy and physiology
• Workshops on your own personal practice of asana, pranayama, and meditation
The course is available to all certified Yoga teachers who have completed a 200-hour Yoga Alliance-certified Basic Teacher Training program. Six months of teaching experience is recommended.
*Yoga teachers from other traditions may apply. We require that all teachers that are not trained through Integral Yoga familiarize themselves with the Integral Yoga method of teaching Hatha Yoga by taking classes at the Integral Yoga Institute or from an IY teacher. Swami Arivananda, RYT 500, is a devotee of H.H. Sri Swami Satchidananda and has been teaching Integral Yoga since 2008. Teaching beginner, intermediate and advanced Integral Yoga practices as taught by Sri Swami Satchidananda with the primary focus on discovering the True Self. Understanding we are already that which we seek and these yoga practices merely uncover that Light within, is the first lesson. Before Integral Yoga, Swami Arivananda enjoyed an eclectic career as a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer for over 25 years. The last decades she owned and operated a successful performing arts center and ballet company. In addition to her performing arts career she and her partner of 20 years developed a software company focusing on interactive multimedia and training programs. For past seven years Swami Arivananda has been serving with the Living Yoga Trainees (LYT). Her enthusiastic style exemplifies that it’s not the service it’s the attitude that makes the magic. The disciplines of Integral Yoga transform “doing” yoga, into “living” yoga. Arivananda has been instructing in all aspects of Yoga including but not limited to Hatha, Meditation, Pranayama, Karma, Raja and Bhakti Yoga. She also tours extensively teaching at various schools, temples and yoga centers around the country.
