SUMMARY:Spiritual Study: Communion Beyond Words: Dharana\, Samyama\, and Animals 1 of 3 parts
DESCRIPTION:ONLINE with Kealoha DeLuz Ph.D. \n3 Mondays\, September 14\, 21\, & 28 • Sessions are offered individually \n$5-20 sliding scale | Please register in advance: a Zoom link will be emailed 1 hour before the session\, or join Zoom directly via your Momence dashboard. \nBook now/Online 9/14 \nBook now/Online 9/21 \nBook now/Online 9/28 \nThe Scripture Study series is an online offering where we learn\, discuss\, and discover how Yoga’s timeless teachings apply directly to our daily lives.\nIn this special three-part series\, Kealoha invites us to explore dharana (focused concentration) and samyama (deep meditative absorption) as direct paths to communion with the animal kingdom. Drawing on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali alongside his own lived experience\, Kealoha shares his journey of living and working closely with six cats\, each of whom\, he has come to believe\, arrived in his life for reasons that go far beyond coincidence.\nAmong them is Sarala\, who shares the exact birthday with a dear friend of Kealoha’s who passed away seventeen years earlier. There is a profound connection that raises questions about whether some arrivals are actually returns. Then there is Boo\, who came from the hardships of the streets. Eight years later\, Boo carries himself with the unhurried steadiness Patanjali describes as abhyasa (sustained practice) and vairagya (non-attachment). When Boo went missing for three weeks\, it was the search for him that ultimately led Kealoha to Stevie and Thomas\, two cats who had found each other while both struggling with health problems\, and who\, in turn\, found their way to a shared home. In a beautiful twist of grace\, Boo’s absence was the exact doorway through which two more souls found refuge.\nThrough these intimate stories\, we will read key passages from the Yoga Sutras\, take time for personal reflection\, and share how these teachings and the animals in our lives can deeply support us on the spiritual path.\nThe Yoga Spiritual Study series is an offering in which participants learn and discuss how the teachings of Yoga apply to our daily lives. We read passages from scriptures of Yoga and other ancient and contemporary spiritual texts\, take time to reflect upon them\, and share with each other how these words and practices support us on the spiritual path. All are welcome to join any one or all of the sessions. These sessions will not be recorded.\n\nKealoha Deluz has been a holistic health practitioner for 30 years\, holds a Master of Divinity\, Ph.D. in Holistic Studies\, and is currently working towards a degree in transpersonal counseling. He has been an Integral Yoga Teacher since 2006 and is a Raja Yoga trainer\, advanced level Hatha Yoga\, meditation and stress management instructor. Kealoha is a licensed massage therapist\, skin care practitioner\, and holistic life coach. Kealoha Born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii\, and currently lives and works in San Francisco\, California.

SUMMARY:Sunday Spiritual Talk: What This Moment Asks of Us: A Fall Equinox Satsang
DESCRIPTION:ONLINE with Kamala Itzel Hayward\, C-IAYT\, E-RYT 500\, YACEP \n$5-$20 | Enroll for free\, use promo code FREE. \nBook now/OnlinePlease register in advance: a Zoom link will be emailed 1 hour before the session\, or join Zoom directly via your Momence dashboard. \nThe Fall Equinox marks a point in the Earth’s cycle when day and night are nearly equal in length—a moment of transition as conditions in nature begin to shift. In this Satsang\, we’ll use the equinox as an opportunity to examine how we respond to shifts unfolding in our world and in our own lives. Grounded in the wisdom of Yoga and compassionate communication\, the gathering will include shared reflection\, contemplative inquiry\, and guided practice. Together\, we’ll explore how yogic principles of nonviolence and truthfulness\, along with the cultivation of a calm\, steady mind\, support us in responding to harm\, conflict\, and upheaval with integrity.\nSatsang is a special time for us to come together as a community. In Sanskrit\, Sat means truth and Sangha means community. Satsang offers an opportunity to come together to share spiritual teachings. The philosophy of Integral Yoga is explored often through an informal discussion. Although our spiritual paths may diverge\, the act of sharing spiritual teachings with others is inspiring and creates a solid foundation for continued practice.\nPeople of all faiths are welcome.\n\nKamala Itzel Hayward was an economic justice and public policy lawyer for over a decade before shifting her focus to wellness\, mindfulness\, and healing. The liberatory\, embodied\, trauma-informed lens she developed across both paths now shapes everything she does.\nItzel specializes in bringing Yoga and mindfulness to communities directly impacted by systemic oppression. She is the founder of the Integral Yoga Institute’s Scholarship-Based Yoga Teacher Training for Black\, Indigenous\, and People of Color. She’s also an Adjunct Professor at UC Law SF\, where she teaches her students to facilitate equitable group processes through mindful presence\, power-consciousness\, and empathic engagement.\nFind Itzel on Insight Timer for a library of guided meditations\, monthly live events\, and her growing community rooted in liberation and collective well-being: insighttimer.com/attunedliving

Using the contemplative question\, “Who am I?”\, we gently turn our attention away from thoughts\, roles\, and identities toward the silent awareness that underlies all experience. Rooted in the teachings of the Upanishads\, the wisdom of Ramana Maharshi\, and Swami Sivananda’s approach to Jnana Yoga meditation\, this practice invites you to expand your awareness and rest in the Heart—the source of pure Being—and experience the peace\, clarity\, and unity that emerge when the mind becomes still.\nDiana Meltsner\, C-IAYT\, ERYT-500\, YACEP\, has been teaching a variety of classes and workshops since 2001 and since 2017 offers yoga therapy sessions privately and at Integral Yoga Therapy Clinic in San Francisco. In these classes there are logical sequences of breath-synchronized movements that transition between sustained poses or relaxation postures. Because of the quicker pace of a flow class\, instructions are minimal during the actual flow\, yet can be more detailed during other times. These classes are ideal for those with some experience in yoga\, but all those with an interest in flowing in and out of poses are welcome.\nAll sessions are offered on a sliding scale to support accessibility for all. SUMMARY:HATHA ・RAJA ・ Awakening Through Practice: Philosophy on the Mat
DESCRIPTION:Celebrating 6 Paths of Integral Yoga\n60 Year Anniversary Weekend Celebration • Friday\, OCT 2 – Sunday\, OCT 4\nHATHA • physical well-being | RAJA • mental mastery | BHAKTI • devotion | JNANA • wisdom & Self-realization\nKARMA • selfless service | JAPA • transformation through sacred sound\n\nONLINE & IN-PERSON with Swami Ramananda \n$5–54 individual session | $54–540 weekend pass\nAccepted memberships: Active teachers\, Weekend Pass holders\, and “Friends” all levels \nBook now/OnlinePlease register in advance: a Zoom link will be emailed 1 hour before the session\, or join Zoom directly via your Momence dashboard. \nBook now/In-PersonWe appreciate advance registration. \nDeepening our understanding of Yoga in the context of its original purpose can transform the way we practice. Beyond physical movement\, Yoga offers a path toward stilling the mind and reconnecting with the deeper awareness that is our true nature. Without this understanding\, our practice can easily be shaped by unconscious habits\, conditioning\, and the pressures of modern culture.\nIn this experiential class\, we will weave together asana\, pranayama\, meditation\, and Yogic philosophy to cultivate greater awareness of the body\, breath\, mind\, and subtle energy. Through mindful movement and self-observation\, we explore how practice can help us move beyond conditioned patterns and open to greater balance\, clarity\, and inner connection. Over time\, this approach can nurture a deeper sense of peace\, belonging\, and authentic well-being.\n\nSwami Ramananda\, C-IAYT\, E-RYT 500\, is the Executive Director of the Integral Yoga Institute in San Francisco\, C-IAYT\, and a greatly respected senior teacher in the Integral Yoga tradition who has been practicing Yoga for over 45 years. Ramananda offers practical methods of integrating the timeless teachings and practices of Yoga into daily life and transforming the painful aspects of human experience into steps toward realizing one’s full potential.\nHe leads beginner\, intermediate and advanced-level Yoga teacher training programs in San Francisco and offers a variety of programs in many locations in the U.S.\, Europe and South America. Ramananda co-developed the Stress Management Teacher Training program with Swami Vidyananda\, has trained many teachers to bring Yoga into corporate\, hospital and medical settings\, and has taught mind/body wellness programs in many locations. He is a certified Yoga therapist and founding board member of the Yoga Alliance\, a national registry that supports and promotes yoga teachers as professionals. He co-founded The Spiritual Action Initiative (SAI)\, which brings together individuals committed to working for social justice for all beings and for the care and healing of our natural world. SUMMARY:KARMA・Awakening the Joy of Selfless Service with Nonviolent Communication
DESCRIPTION:Celebrating 6 Paths of Integral Yoga\n60 Year Anniversary Weekend Celebration • Friday\, OCT 2 – Sunday\, OCT 4\nHATHA • physical well-being | RAJA • mental mastery | BHAKTI • devotion | JNANA • wisdom & Self-realization\nKARMA • selfless service | JAPA • transformation through sacred sound\n\nONLINE with Kamala Itzel Hayward \n$5–54 individual session | $54–540 Weekend Pass\nAccepted memberships: Active teachers\, Weekend Pass* holders\, and “Friends” all levels \nAll sessions are offered on a sliding scale to support accessibility for all. Thank you. \nBook now/OnlinePlease register in advance: a Zoom link will be emailed 1 hour before the session\, or join Zoom directly via your Momence dashboard. \nNonviolent Communication\, or NVC\, offers practical tools for us to practice Karma Yoga—the path of selfless service. At its most superficial level\, NVC provides a framework for speaking with truthfulness (satya) and nonviolence (ahimsa). However\, NVC is rooted in the understanding that the most direct path to peace is through self-awareness and awareness of our interdependence. And when our NVC practice becomes well-established\, we release attachment to outcomes and the knowing of our shared humanity awakens.\nIn this workshop\, we explore what it means to give in a way that is selfless and joyful—giving that springs not from attachment\, obligation\, or aversion\, but from the expansive movement of our heart toward another. Through this exploration\, we discover the paradox that lies at the center of Karma Yoga: that when we give freely and fully\, the distinction between giver and receiver dissolves\, and we experience our fundamental human interconnection—the recognition that we are not separate.\nKamala Itzel Hayward was an economic justice and public policy lawyer for over a decade before shifting her focus to wellness\, mindfulness\, and healing. The liberatory\, embodied\, trauma-informed lens she developed across both paths now shapes everything she does. Itzel specializes in bringing Yoga and mindfulness to communities directly impacted by systemic oppression. She is the founder of the Integral Yoga Institute’s Scholarship-Based Yoga Teacher Training for Black\, Indigenous\, and People of Color. She’s also an Adjunct Professor at UC Law SF\, where she teaches her students to facilitate equitable group processes through mindful presence\, power-consciousness\, and empathic engagement.
