SUMMARY:Satsang: The Living Path of Yoga
DESCRIPTION:ONLINE with Kalyani Cohen Barr \n$5-$20 | Enroll for free\, use promo code FREE. \nBook now/OnlinePlease register in advance; a Zoom link will be emailed 1 hour before the session\, or join Zoom directly via your Momence dashboard. \nWhat does it mean to practice yoga not only in stillness\, but in the sacred unfolding of daily life? In this conversation\, we will explore yoga as a living path — one that meets us in the midst of struggle\, change\, tenderness\, and truth. Drawing from the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita and The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali\, we’ll reflect on how to listen deeply for what is needed in each moment\, and how to respond with presence and acceptance.\nWe will consider the quiet teachings of acceptance\, openness\, mind/body connection\, and beginner’s mind — the humility of meeting each day\, each breath\, and each body anew. Though we may feel familiar with ourselves\, we are always changing. Each time we step onto the mat\, for example\, we arrive as someone slightly different\, with a different body\, a different heart\, a different\nTogether\, we will honor the power of meditation\, the energy of mantra\, the release in pranayama\, and the grace of allowing practice to meet life as it is. This is an invitation to soften into not knowing\, to trust inner guidance\, and to discover how yoga can steady us\, reveal us\, and carry us back to presence. I look forward to sharing my own journey with you.\nSatsang is a special time for us to come together as a community. In Sanskrit\, Sat means truth and Sangha means community. Satsang offers an opportunity to come together to share spiritual teachings. The philosophy of Integral Yoga is explored often through an informal discussion. Although our spiritual paths may diverge\, the act of sharing spiritual teachings with others is inspiring and creates a solid foundation for continued practice.\nPeople of all faiths are welcome.\n\nKalyani Carlee Cohen Barr first found herself at the Integral Yoga Institute (IYI) in 2001 and began teaching Hatha Yoga\, Pranayama and meditation in 2005 after receiving her certification with Swami Ramananda at IYI Bacalar\, Mexico. The name Kalyani is a spiritual name given to Carlee by Swami Ramananda which signifies a state of auspiciousness\, recognizing blessings\, and bliss which she brings into her classes. Kalyani has attended numerous workshops and trainings over the years\, including Pranayama with Margabandhu Marturano and Richard Miller of iRest\, Meditation\, Mantra\, Mudras\, Dharma\, Yoga Therapy in Cancer and Chronic Illness (YCAT)\, Yoga for the Special Child (IYINY)\, The Bhagavad Gita with Rev. Jaganath Carrera (for certification)\, and Anusara Yoga. She is now certified in Raja Yoga (IYISF-2022)\, weaving the yoga sutras into her teachings. Kalyani has led classes and small group sessions for musicians of all ages at Interplay Jazz Camp in Vermont\, has co-lead a retreat in Northern India\, has led “Yoga Day” classes for 150 students\, and has appeared on Canadian public television. She co-founded Simply Yoga in South Florida. Kalyani now holds the position of Teacher Coordinator at IYISF. “Yoga is a sacred path to inner peace\, radiant health\, and deep joy. It has touched and transformed me on every level and my greatest joy is sharing this gift with others.” Join Kalyani to reconnect with your breath\, find your balance\, and experience greater energy\, vitality\, and well-being.

SUMMARY:Embodied Wisdom: A Hatha Yoga Practice to Awaken\, part 1 of 2
DESCRIPTION:Online & in-person with Swami Ramananda \n2 Tuesdays\, 6/16 & 6/23  6-7:30 pm PT\, sessions offered individually\n⋅ $45 Both session\, in-person or online | $40  Early bird\, exp. 6/9\n⋅ $25 Individually\, in-person or online \nBook now/Online \nBook now/Online both sessions 6/16 & 6/23 Please register in advance; a Zoom link will be emailed 1 hour before the session\, or join Zoom directly via your Momence dashboard. \nBook now/In-Person \nBook now/In-person both sessions 6/16 & 6/23 Please register in advance; a Zoom link will be emailed 1 hour before the session\, or join Zoom directly via your Momence dashboard. \nYoga was originally intended as a path to still the mind and experience the spiritual consciousness that is our true nature. In the Hatha Yoga tradition\, the body and breath are skillful means for cultivating this inner steadiness. Through asana\, pranayama\, and mindful awareness\, we gradually harmonize the nervous system\, balance the flow of prana\, and prepare the mind for deeper states of meditation.\nWhen we lose sight of this deeper purpose\, our practice can easily become shaped by unconscious beliefs and cultural conditioning that may contribute to tension\, striving\, or self-judgment.\nIn this workshop\, we will explore ways of practicing Hatha Yoga with greater awareness and sensitivity. Through accessible asana\, gentle breath practices\, and guided attention\, we will learn to move with steadiness and ease\, gradually freeing ourselves from habitual patterns held in the body and mind. As we practice\, we will cultivate a calm\, non-reactive mind and an open\, receptive heart.\nTogether we will explore how a mindful Hatha Yoga practice can deepen our sense of connection—with our own embodied experience\, with one another\, with nature\, and with the deeper intelligence that underlies life.\nOver time\, a practice grounded in this understanding can gently transform even the subconscious mind\, allowing us to move beyond old fears and beliefs and approach life with greater balance\, belonging\, inner contentment\, and wonder.\nBoth session will be recorded and available to all enrolled students for two weeks.\n\nSwami Ramananda\, C-IAYT\, E-RYT 500\, is the Executive Director of the Integral Yoga Institute in San Francisco\, C-IAYT\, and a greatly respected senior teacher in the Integral Yoga tradition who has been practicing Yoga for over 45 years. Ramananda offers practical methods of integrating the timeless teachings and practices of Yoga into daily life and transforming the painful aspects of human experience into steps toward realizing one’s full potential.\nHe leads beginner\, intermediate and advanced-level Yoga teacher training programs in San Francisco and offers a variety of programs in many locations in the U.S.\, Europe and South America. Ramananda co-developed the Stress Management Teacher Training program with Swami Vidyananda\, has trained many teachers to bring Yoga into corporate\, hospital and medical settings\, and has taught mind/body wellness programs in many locations. He is a certified Yoga therapist and founding board member of the Yoga Alliance\, a national registry that supports and promotes yoga teachers as professionals. He co-founded The Spiritual Action Initiative (SAI)\, which brings together individuals committed to working for social justice for all beings and for the care and healing of our natural world. His warmth\, wisdom and sense of humor have endeared him to many.

SUMMARY:Embodied Wisdom: A Hatha Yoga Practice to Awaken\, part 2 of 2
DESCRIPTION:Online & in-person with Swami Ramananda \n2 Tuesdays\, 6/16 & 6/23  6-7:30 pm PT\, sessions offered individually\n⋅ $45 Both session\, in-person or online | $40  Early bird\, exp. 6/9\n⋅ $25 Individually\, in-person or online \nBook now/Online 6/23 only \nBook now/Online both 6/16 & 6/23 Please register in advance; a Zoom link will be emailed 1 hour before the session\, or join Zoom directly via your Momence dashboard. \nBook now/In-Person 6/23 only \nBook now/In-person both 6/16 & 6/23 Please register in advance; a Zoom link will be emailed 1 hour before the session\, or join Zoom directly via your Momence dashboard.

SUMMARY:Our Heart – The Sherpa: Trusting the Inner Guide
DESCRIPTION:ONLINE with Antonio Sausys MA\, IGT\, CMT\, C-IAYT \n$25 | $20 Early bird\, exp. 6/30 \nBook now/OnlinePlease register in advance: a Zoom link will be emailed 1 hour before the session\, or join Zoom directly via your Momence dashboard. \nIf our inner world is a mountain and self-realization the summit\, the heart is the Sherpa who knows the way. It reads the terrain beyond what the mind can map—guiding us through uncertainty\, resistance\, and change. Its direction is not always comfortable\, and often not what we expect\, which is why we tend to override\, suppress\, or reinterpret its messages.\nYet the heart speaks in a precise language: emotion. Each feeling is a signpost pointing toward something that asks for our attention. The challenge is not that the guidance is unclear—but that we often don’t like where it leads.\nThis talk invites a shift: from managing emotions to listening to them. Through a practical and reflective lens\, we’ll explore how to decode common emotional states\, ask the right questions\, and access the deeper intelligence they carry. The result is a more grounded\, trustworthy way of navigating both inner and outer life.\n\nAntonio Sausys MA\, IGT\, CMT\, C-IAYT\, is a somatic psychologist and yoga therapist specializing in grief counseling and therapy. His studies in Somatic Psychology were guided by Hugo Bilsky\, and his yoga training includes teachings from swamis of the Satyananda\, Sivananda\, and Satchidananda traditions\, as well as renowned teachers such as Indra Devi\, Ram Das\, and Rama Jyoti Vernon. Antonio has continued his professional growth through training in Integrative Grief Therapy with Lyn Prashant\, as well as Foot Reflexology\, Swedish Therapeutic Massage\, and Reiki. \nAntonio presents his work both nationally and internationally at Schools and Universities and leads retreats at Ashrams\, Retreat Centers and Yoga Studios.\, is a member of the World Yoga Council\, the International Association of Yoga Therapists\, a TV Host for YogiViews and the founder and Executive Director of ‘Yoga for Health’ the International Yoga Therapy Conference.\nHe is the author of ‘Yoga for Grief Relief: Simple Practices for Transforming Your Grieving Mind and Body’ (New Harbinger) and a contributor for Yoga and Science in Pain Care – Treating the Person in Pain (Edited by Shelly Prosko and Neil Person – Jessica Kingsley Publishers\, 2019) and New Techniques of Grief Therapy: Bereavement and Beyond by Robert Niemeyer (Routledge 2019).

The TRE exercises mildly tire the legs\, triggering an involuntary shaking and trembling response\, which begins in the legs and often spreads throughout the body. This natural response is the nervous system’s way of discharging long-held tension and unconscious body contraction\, caused by everyday stress and traumatic life experiences\, in order to restore the body to wholeness.\nTRE was developed by Dr. David Berceli\, a bio-energetic therapist and social worker\, who used it successfully worldwide working with soldiers\, firefighters\, police officers and survivors of war\, natural disasters and other traumatic circumstances to help alleviate the many symptoms of post-traumatic stress. TRE is taught in over 75 countries worldwide.\nOriginally developed for sufferers of trauma\, over the past few decades\, TRE is becoming an increasingly popular way to also deal with the stressors of everyday life.\nReported benefits include:\n• decrease anxiety\n• release chronic tension\n• discharge emotional and physical trauma\n• increase energy and flexibility\n• improve sleep and mood\n• decrease of aches\, pains and symptoms of fibromyalgia and sciatica \nThis workshop is suitable for all ages and fitness levels as the exercises can be modified to accommodate any body’s need. Maria offers a weekly online refresher class that workshop participants can attend by donation. This online session will not be recorded.\nCEU certificate available upon request from the teacher for psychotherapists and massage therapists.\nPlease read a downloadable pdf with important preparation instructions about your Online TRE® session. It will be sent to you with an enrollment confirmation email. This document contains information about how to set up your camera and mat and checklist of needed items.\nFor more information about TRE please visit www.TREcalifornia.com\n\nMaria is a native Italian living in Santa Cruz\, California. She has over 30 years of yoga experience and a background in Chinese martial arts and massage.\nAs a senior TRE® Certification Trainer\, since 2004\, she has taught thousands of people in the US\, Canada\, Europe\, Asia and the Middle East. She assisted Dr. Berceli\, TRE’s founder\, in numerous trainings in the US\, South Africa\, Brazil and Japan and led hundreds of public workshops and over hundred certification trainings worldwide. \nMaria is also the co-creator of Neurogenic Yoga™\, the sister method of TRE. \nMaria facilitates workshops and trainings globally. While insight is valuable\, it often lacks the power to create lasting change because many of our deepest patterns—stress responses\, habits\, and even aspects of personality—were “programmed” into our nervous systems early in life\, long before we had the language or logic to process them.\nWhen these patterns are locked below the level of the rational mind\, you simply cannot “think” your way out of mental states. Real\, sustainable change requires a different gateway: The Body.\nThis 3-hour workshop explores a somatic approach to transformation. By shifting our focus from mental overactivity to Interoception—the ability to sense the internal state of the body—we create the conditions for the nervous system to regulate and reset. We will begin with a brief lecture but the heart of this session is experiential—moving beyond theory into the felt sense of a grounded presence.\nIn this workshop\, you will:\n\nMap Your Nervous System: Shift from self-judgment to self-compassion by learning how “stuck” patterns are actually protective physiological adaptations rather than personal failures.\nCultivate Interoception through Yoga: Move beyond the “story” of the mind and into the direct sensory experience of the body through somatic movement and intentional postures.\nRegulate through Pranayama: Learn specific breathing techniques that signal safety to the brain\, giving you the power to shift your physiological state in real-time.\nIntegrate through Yoga Nidra: Settle into a systematic “yogic sleep” meditation designed to ground your experience. This practice cultivates a deep sense of safety and relaxation\, fostering a restorative connection to both body and soul.\n\nThis workshop is particularly beneficial for those who:\n\nWant practical\, somatic tools for emotional regulation and resilience.\nFeel stuck in cycles of anxiety\, overthinking\, or chronic stress.\nExperience “burnout” or a sense of being disconnected from their physical self.\nAre interested in the science of the mind-body connection through the lens of Yoga Therapy.\n\nNo yoga experience needed. This workshop will be recorded and available to all enrolled students for two weeks.\n\nOriginally from Germany\, Claudia has been studying and teaching yoga for over 25 years. With more than 2\,000 hours of formal training\, she brings a strong foundation in the classical traditions of yoga together with innovative\, therapeutic approaches. Certified as a Yoga Therapist in 2016\, she is deeply dedicated to facilitating holistic healing. In her work\, she specializes in supporting individuals navigating mental\, emotional\, or physical challenges by adapting yoga practices to meet their unique conditions and needs. In addition\, she is a Certified Stress Management Educator\, empowering individuals to cultivate resilience and inner calm through mindful\, evidence-informed practices. She also holds certifications as a Shiatsu and Reiki Practitioner\, modalities that complement the integrative\, body-centered approach she brings to her work.
