SUMMARY:Spiritual Study: From Theory to Practice: Samkhya Philosophy & the Yoga Sutras\, 1 of 3-Parts
DESCRIPTION:3 Mondays: March 16\, 23\, 30 | Offered individually\nOnline | $5-20 sliding scale \nBook now/OnlinePlease register in advance; a Zoom link will be emailed 1 hour before the session\, or join Zoom directly via your Momence dashboard. \nSamkhya is a foundational philosophy that’s been shaping India’s spiritual landscape for millennia. We’ll explore how this profound wisdom tradition\, one of the oldest in the world\, is intricately woven into Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras. Using Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati’s book\, Samkhya Darshan (Yogic Perspective)\, as our compass\, we’ll unpack the core concepts of Purusha (pure consciousness) and Prakriti (primordial matter). Discover how understanding the dynamic interplay of these two—and the three gunas (qualities of nature)—isn’t just an intellectual exercise; it’s a key to seeing the world and your own yoga practice with fresh eyes. This isn’t about just learning history. Together we’ll connect these ancient insights directly to your personal sadhana (spiritual practice)\, helping you see your asana and meditation practice in a new light. Gaining a deeper understanding of the mind’s patterns ultimately leading to greater balance\, clarity\, and inner freedom.\nThe Yoga Spiritual Study series is an offering in which participants learn and discuss how the teachings of Yoga apply to our daily lives. We read passages from scriptures of Yoga and other ancient and contemporary spiritual texts\, take time to reflect upon them\, and share with each other how these words and practices support us on the spiritual path. All are welcome to join any one or all of the sessions. To ensure a private space for all attendees\, this will not be recorded.\nSign up for one or more individually: \nBook Monday\, March 16\nBook Monday\, March 23\nBook Monday\, March 30 \n\nKealoha Deluz has been a holistic health practitioner for 30 years\, holds a Master of Divinity\, Ph.D. in Holistic Studies\, and is currently working towards a degree in transpersonal counseling. SUMMARY:Sunday Spiritual Talk:What This Moment Asks of Us: A Spring Equinox Satsang
DESCRIPTION:Online | $5-$20 | Enroll for free\, use promo code FREE \nBook now/OnlinePlease register in advance; a Zoom link will be emailed 1 hour before the session\, or join Zoom directly via your Momence dashboard. \nThe Spring Equinox marks a point in the Earth’s cycle when day and night are nearly equal in length—a moment of transition as conditions in nature begin to shift. In this Satsang\, we’ll use the equinox as an opportunity to examine how we respond to shifts unfolding in our world and in our own lives. Grounded in the wisdom of Yoga and compassionate communication\, the gathering will include shared reflection\, contemplative inquiry\, and guided practice. Together\, we’ll explore how yogic principles of nonviolence and truthfulness\, along with the cultivation of a calm\, steady mind\, support us in responding to harm\, conflict\, and upheaval with integrity.\nSatsang is a special time for us to come together as a community. In Sanskrit\, Sat means truth and Sangha means community. Satsang offers an opportunity to come together to share spiritual teachings. The philosophy of Integral Yoga is explored often through an informal discussion. Although our spiritual paths may diverge\, the act of sharing spiritual teachings with others is inspiring and creates a solid foundation for continued practice. \nPeople of all faiths are welcome.\n\nKamala Itzel Hayward was a lawyer for over a decade before becoming a Yoga teacher and Yoga therapist specializing in trauma\, addiction\, and wellness. She is passionate about bringing Yoga and other healing modalities to adults facing chronic stress caused by living under oppression\, such as racism\, sexism\, homophobia\, transphobia\, classism\, ableism\, and more. She is founder of the Integral Yoga Institute’s Scholarship-Based Yoga Teacher Training for Black\, Indigenous\, People of Color. Since founding Attuned Living in 2010\, she has been sharing Yoga with individuals facing housing insecurity and related challenges\, including systemic barriers; structural oppression; social dislocation; physical\, emotional\, and mental health challenges; substance abuse; and addiction. She sits on the Advisory Board for the Trauma Prevention and Recovery Certificate Program at the City College of San Francisco.

SUMMARY:Satsang: Interfaith Celebration of Easter and Passover\, The Divine Mystery
DESCRIPTION:Online & In-person\n$5-$20 | Enroll for free\, use promo code FREE. \nBook now/OnlinePlease register in advance; a Zoom link will be emailed 1 hour before the session\, or join Zoom directly via your Momence dashboard. \nBook now/In-PersonWe appreciate advance registration. \nJoin Swami Vimalananda and Surya Stuart Dick for this interfaith celebration. We will open a discussion on the holy day’s mystical and practical significance in Jewish\, Christian\, and Yogic traditions. There will be time for personal sharing.\nPassover is the Jewish holiday of liberation. It represents freedom from the constructs that bind us. But where does that leave us? We know how the Jewish telling of the holiday plays out\, but those who were uprooted didn’t know what would happen next. Or how to cope.\nStuart will highlight tools from the Jewish teachings as we search for ways to manage profound personal and communal change.\nHe’s alive! He’s alive! Jesus died on the cross but after three days. He was alive and showed himself to many people. Even doubting Thomas saw Jesus’ hand with the nail marks. Jesus rose from the dead!\nThe essence of Easter is that Jesus demonstrated that there is immortality. Only his body died but his essence was alive. What if we are all immortal and only our bodies die and our Self lives forever? Can this really be true?\nPlease join Swami Vimalananda for a short talk and discussion about this incredible event and its implications.\nEveryone is welcome to stay for tea and light snacks afterwards.\nSatsang is a special time for us to come together as a community. This donation-based program will not be recorded.\nPeople of all faiths are welcome.\n\nSwami Vimalananda Ma\, RYT500\, is an Integral Yoga sannyasi – monk. She has been involved with Integral Yoga since 1971 and Director of the San Francisco Integral Yoga Institute from 1992-2011. She specializes in teaching yoga philosophy and spiritual counseling. \n  \n  \nSurya Stuart Dick has blended their own Jewish and yoga practices for decades\, finding that each tradition supports and informs the other. They’ve practiced and taught Integral Yoga for over twenty years.

DESCRIPTION:Online \n$54 | $47 Early bird\, use promo code MEDITATE\, exp. 3/30/26 \nBook now/OnlinePlease register in advance; a Zoom link will be emailed 1 hour before the session\, or join Zoom directly via your Momence dashboard. \nJoin Diana Meltsner—meditation teacher and teacher trainer—online for seven morning meditations and brief talks\, held daily from Monday\, April 6\, through Sunday\, April 12\, 2026. These sessions will focus on developing meditation that integrates two perspectives: Analysis and Mystery.\nA life lived solely in analysis becomes brittle; a life lived solely in faith becomes ungrounded. But a life that can move fluidly between these modes becomes flexible\, resilient\, and wise. Can our meditation hold both perspectives?\nThe Analytical Mode asks:\n• What is happening right now?\n• What is the process here?\n• What is skillful or unskillful?\nThe Mystical Mode asks:\n• Can I be with this without needing to know?\n• Can I trust the unfolding moment?\n• What if the deepest truths are felt rather than understood?\nKena Upanishad:\n“It is known to the one who does not know it.\nIt is unknown to the one who thinks he knows.”\nWe will explore practices that cultivate both the intellect and the mystical heart:\n• Meditation that develops a narrow focus—grounded in analysis\, discernment\, and clear seeing\n• Open-awareness meditation rooted in faith\, mystery\, and living in the question\nThese practices foster different types of attentiveness. Each expands our perception of reality and reflects the brain’s dual hemispheric functionality\, which supports complex cognition\, balanced behavior\, and true discrimination—viveka.\nMeditation\, talk\, discussion\, and sharing will be included. Some experience with meditation is required.\nDiana’s recent blog on this topic.\nAll sessions will be recorded and shared with participants for later viewing on a daily basis.\n\nDiana Meltsner\, C-IAYT\, ERYT-500\, YACEP\, has been teaching a variety of classes and workshops since 2001 and since 2017 offers yoga therapy sessions privately and at Integral Yoga Therapy Clinic in San Francisco. She has over 15 years of experience in leading and co-teaching Yoga and Meditation teacher trainings. She has been working in the clinical setting for Kaiser Permanente since 2005 as a yoga teacher\, yoga therapist\, and health educator. Diana’s focus is on the healing aspects of Yoga on the mind as well as the body by applying the physical postures\, practices of breath-control\, mindfulness and meditation. Diana helps her clients to find the ability to move through life with increased ease\, stress resilience\, and intuition. SUMMARY:Inside Patanjali’s Words: Discover the Hidden Heart of Yoga
DESCRIPTION:ONLINE with Rev. Jaganath Carrera \n$20 | $15 Early bird\, exp. 1/31/26. \nBook now/OnlineWe appreciate advance registration. \nThe Yoga Sutras of Patanjali are a holistic\, multi-faceted approach to spirituality. Every aspect of who we are as human beings is embraced and included in a symphony of principles and practices. The goal? A life of peace\, happiness\, meaning\, and practical wisdom.\nThese vital teachings are presented using sutras – phrases – that can be obscure. But we can illumine the darkest corners of this classic text by taking a closer look at Patanjali’s words.\nWords are matchmakers. They introduce us to most knowledge\, but they have limitations. The challenge is to find language that keeps the spirit of the teaching but clearly conveys that spirit to today’s yoga students and practitioners.\nExpect to be surprised and informed. This workshop will be recorded and available to all enrolled.\n\nReverend Jaganath Carrera has been teaching all facets of Yoga theory and practice at universities\, prisons\, Yoga centers\, and interfaith programs since 1974. He established the Integral Yoga and Yoga Life Ministries\, and co-developed the highly regarded Integral Yoga Meditation and Raja Yoga Teacher Training Certification programs. He is the founder and spiritual head of the Yoga Life Society www.yogalifecenter.org and has authored highly regarded books. • Awaken: Inside Yoga Meditation • Inside the Yoga Sutras: A Comprehensive Sourcebook for the Study and Practice • Inside Patanjali’s Words: Explore the Heart of Yoga.

Drawing from the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita and The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali\, we’ll reflect on how to listen deeply for what is needed in each moment\, and how to respond with presence and acceptance.\nWe will consider the quiet teachings of acceptance\, openness\, mind/body connection\, and beginner’s mind — the humility of meeting each day\, each breath\, and each body anew. Though we may feel familiar with ourselves\, we are always changing. Each time we step onto the mat\, for example\, we arrive as someone slightly different\, with a different body\, a different heart\, a different\nTogether\, we will honor the power of meditation\, the energy of mantra\, the release in pranayama\, and the grace of allowing practice to meet life as it is. This is an invitation to soften into not knowing\, to trust inner guidance\, and to discover how yoga can steady us\, reveal us\, and carry us back to presence. I look forward to sharing my own journey with you.\nSatsang is a special time for us to come together as a community. In Sanskrit\, Sat means truth and Sangha means community. Satsang offers an opportunity to come together to share spiritual teachings. The philosophy of Integral Yoga is explored often through an informal discussion. Although our spiritual paths may diverge\, the act of sharing spiritual teachings with others is inspiring and creates a solid foundation for continued practice.\nPeople of all faiths are welcome.\n\nKalyani Carlee Cohen Barr first found herself at the Integral Yoga Institute (IYI) in 2001 and began teaching Hatha Yoga\, Pranayama and meditation in 2005 after receiving her certification with Swami Ramananda at IYI Bacalar\, Mexico.
