SUMMARY:Satsang: Swami Sivananda's Jayathi
DESCRIPTION:$5-$20 | Enroll for free\, use promo code FREE. \nBook now/OnlinePlease register in advance; a Zoom link will be emailed 1 hour before the session\, or join Zoom directly via your Momence dashboard. \nBook now/In-PersonPlease review our In-person Safety Guidelines. \n“Serve\, Love\, Give\, Purify\, Meditate\, Realize; Be good\, Do good\, Be kind\, Be compassionate.” – Sri Swami Sivananda\nAt this Satsang\, Swami Ramananda will share some of Swami Sivananda’s practical teachings that have uplifted thousands for nearly 100 years. To further honor Swami Sivananda’s legacy\, Snehan will lead us in chanting Sanskrit mantras\, and together\, they will offer a puja. Sankirtan was Swami Sivananda’s favorite practice and Maha Mantra is still chanted continuously at the Ashram he founded in India.\nSwami Sivananda Saraswati (1887 – 1963) was a Hindu spiritual teacher and a proponent of Yoga and Vedanta. Sivananda was born in Pattamadai\, Tamil Nadu. He studied medicine and served in British Malaya as a physician for several years before taking up monasticism.\nSwami Sivananda was the founder of the Divine Life Society (1936)\, Yoga-Vedanta Forest Academy (1948) and the author of over 200 books on yoga\, Vedanta\, and a variety of related subjects. He established the first Sivananda Ashram\, on the bank of the Ganges at Sivanandanagar\, near Rishikesh. He was Swami Satchidanada’s beloved teacher’s Gurudev and you will find his photograph on many altars at Integral Yoga centers around the world.\n“Do not love leisure. Waste not a minute. Be bold. Realize the Truth\, here and now!”\nEveryone is welcome to share a simple vegetarian meal and tea afterwards. Recommended donation $5-10.\nSatsang\, a special time for us to come together as a community. In Sanskrit\, Sat means truth and Sangha means community. Satsang offers an opportunity to come together to share spiritual teachings. The philosophy of Integral Yoga is explored\, often\, through an informal discussion. Although spiritual paths may diverge\, the act of sharing spiritual teachings with others is inspiring and creates a solid foundation for continued practice.\nPeople of all faiths are welcome.\n\nSwami Ramananda\, C-IAYT\, E-RYT 500\, is the Executive Director of the Integral Yoga Institute in San Francisco\, C-IAYT\, and a greatly respected senior teacher in the Integral Yoga tradition who has been practicing Yoga for over 45 years. Ramananda co-developed the Stress Management Teacher Training program with Swami Vidyananda\, has trained many teachers to bring Yoga into corporate\, hospital and medical settings\, and has taught mind/body wellness programs in many locations. He is a certified Yoga therapist and founding board member of the Yoga Alliance\, a national registry that supports and promotes yoga teachers as professionals. He co-founded The Spiritual Action Initiative (SAI)\, which brings together individuals committed to working for social justice for all beings and for the care and healing of our natural world. His warmth\, wisdom and sense of humor have endeared him to many. \nSwami Divyananda Ma\, E-RYT 500\, has had a wealth of experience teaching Integral Yoga around the world since 1973. She has taught at corporations\, universities\, the Commonwealth Cancer Center\, and for the Dr. Dean Ornish Reversing Heart Disease programs. She has also served as one of Integral Yoga’s Basic Hatha teacher trainers. Swami Divyananda Ma took monastic vows in 1975 from the great saint and yogi\, Sri Swami Satchidananda. Over the years she has served as the director of the Integral Yoga Institutes in Los Angeles\, San Francisco\, and as Ashram Manager at Yogaville. She also served for ten years as the director of the Integral Yoga Institute in Coimbatore\, India; this immersion into the South Indian culture has given depth to her understanding and practice of Yoga. Reiki treats the whole person including body\, emotions\, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace\, security and wellbeing\, as well as grounding\, balance and confidence. Though Reiki is spiritual in nature\, it is not a religion and has no dogma\, and can serve as a complement to yoga or other spiritual or wellness practices.\nThis 2-day intensive training includes the full curriculum for Reiki 1 & 2 as taught by the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT)\, as well as supplemental information for yoga practitioners and teachers\, and exercises to connect with your own unique gifts and inspiration as a healer. This includes learning to give reiki to yourself and others\, and information on how to set up a reiki practice or integrate reiki into other offerings such as yoga classes. The training includes lecture\, discussion and practice and is limited to only 8 participants to assure personalized instruction. We sincerely apologize this is not a wheelchair accessible building – accessing classrooms requires climbing several flights stairs.\nUpon completion\, participants will receive a Reiki I & II certificate under the International Center for Reiki Training\, and be qualified to enroll in Reiki Master training with the ICRT (after 6 months of reiki II practice.)\nThe ICRT Reiki I & II curriculum includes:\n\nDiscussion on history of reiki\, its evolution and variations including traditional Usui reiki\, Takata methods\, and the new “Holy Fire” reiki\nEmpowerment to receive and transmit reiki energy\nTraining on how to give a complete Reiki session for self and others\, which includes training on clearing one’s energy field and the standard Reiki session hand positions\nOther specialized techniques\, including Japanese techniques for using intuition to detect where reiki is needed\, how to use Reiki I & II symbols\, and how to send distant healing\nInformation and discussion on practicalities of how to start a reiki practice\, including setting up a space\, equipment\, insurance\, and marketing\n190-page class manual\nCertificate\nQualification to enroll in Reiki Master training with any authorized ICRT teacher (after six months of Reiki II practice)\n\nSupplemental curriculum includes:\n\nDiscussion on how Reiki can relate to the yogic system\, and how reiki might be integrated into or alongside yoga practice\, yoga teaching or yoga therapy.\nPractice giving reiki to clients in varied settings\, including using a massage table\, a chair\, and a yoga mat.\nExercises to identify your intuitive style\, and how to develop it for healing.\nPractice on how to connect with your client\, at an interpersonal as well as intuitive level.\nGuided meditation and journaling to connect with your personal inspiration and journey as a healer.\nDiscussion on caring for yourself and how to give Reiki in a healthy\, sustainable\, and ethical way.\nBased on time and interest: Short overview of other energy healing modalities and traditions; resources on scientific research on Reiki and other energy healing; guided meditation to meet your higher self and/or your Reiki or healing “guides”.\n\nReiki is a simple\, natural and safe method of spiritual healing that everyone can use. While there are no guarantees for a specific result\, there are many reports of Reiki helping a wide variety of illnesses and maladies. Reiki can also work in conjunction with other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.\n\nIt is highly recommended to experience a Reiki treatment prior to this workshop: Aryahi offers private sessions through the Integral Yoga Therapy Clinic. Workshop participants receive a 20% discount on treatments with her. For a greater discount\, contact her directly at aryahi@integralyogasf.org.\nFor more information on Reiki visit the International Center for Reiki Training.\nWe offer tuition discounts for BIPOC upon request: email manager@integralyogasf.org.\n\n\nAryahi is an intuitive energy healer specializing in Reiki\, Inner Alignment\, and other healing modalities.
