Satsang: The Yoga of Relationships with Swami Arivananda
Saturday, June 17 | 6:00pm – 7:30pm
People are of different natures and levels in their evolution, so naturally they behave differently. Our interactions with others sometimes trigger emotions that make it difficult to maintain the peace that we intend to dwell in. Examining these conditioned responses gives us an opportunity to learn how to preserve our equanimity, even when facing hurtful behavior.
We’ll explore the set of practices found in Book I Sutra 33, in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, which our modern-day Yoga is based on. Together we will discover how this wisdom applies to our everyday lives, making it one of the most useful tools for living a life in harmony. Who wouldn’t want serenity of mind always? Join us.
Satsang is a special time for us to come together as a community. In Sanskrit, sat means truth and sangha means community. Satsang offers an opportunity to come together with IYI senior instructors to share spiritual teachings. The philosophy of Integral Yoga is explored through a talk followed by an informal discussion. Although spiritual paths may diverge, the act of sharing spiritual teachings with others is inspiring and creates a solid foundation for continued practice. People of all faiths are welcome. May be attended on a drop-in basis with no preregistration.
The topics for discussion at Satsang change each week and include a wide array of diverse and interesting subjects and issues ranging from personal healing to global transformation. Please sign up for our newsletter for more information on this week’s Satsang.
Satsang is held every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.
