Making peace in ourselves does not mean waiting until the body and mind are transformed or perfect. It does not mean successfully changing our circumstances. True peace is uncovered within us when we learn to accept the body, mind and circumstances as they are. Touching a personal center of balance inside, we depend less and less on outer things to be at OK. We become examples to others, showing how one can still be at ease with a broken arm, a dying friend, a low bank account, or a difficult boss. One can still have compassion for those who are suffering.
